Positive and practical thinking

Positive Thinking Is Not Ignoring Problems

A constructive response begins by seeing a difficulty clearly.

Name the difficulty

A challenge is easier to discuss when it is specific. Instead of saying “I cannot do this,” try “I do not understand this step yet.” The difficulty remains real, but now you can identify a useful question.

Separate what you can influence

Write down what is within your control: asking for help, checking an assumption or trying a smaller part of the task. Recognise what you cannot decide on your own.

Choose a next step

A constructive approach does not require pretending everything is fine. It means acknowledging the situation and finding one reasonable action. Review what happens and adjust your approach.
